Shalanda is a Graduate of California State University Bakersfield, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. She has served in her community over the last 16 years and her “Meet Them on Their Level” motivational delivery has made her a sought-out speaker for her ability to connect with and motivate youth and people from all walks of life. Shalanda openly shares her knowledge, talents, obstacles, importance of education, life, career experiences, with the youth (K-12) and encouraging careers in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). Currently, Shalanda has developed a STEM curriculum and is sharing with youth K-12 across Kern County, to increase interest. Shalanda prides herself in being a selfless, woman of integrity. Her gift for developing relationships built on trust at all levels, along with programs and strategies to support our youth, and improving the educational disparity in Kern County is what fuels her. She has led community events, served a mentor, and spread love inside and outside of a congregation and served on several executive boards. Shalanda has self-funded and supported many youths across Kern County and is committed to continuing her intentional journey to provide our youth with the tools needed to thrive.
